What Does It Assess?
The assessment identifies visible signs of structural distress, movement, settlement, material deterioration, seismic vulnerability and other conditions that may affect structural stability, structural integrity or long-term structural performance.
When Is a Structural Assessment Required?
Structural assessments may be carried out prior to purchasing a property or during ownership where there are concerns regarding structural safety (for example, significant cracking, settlement or structural movement), or before renovations, extensions or other structural modifications, to determine whether the structure can safely support its design loads and any proposed works.
